The role of N4BP1 complexes in the degradation of matrix and non-coding RNAs –

dr Mateusz Wilamowski, mgr Paweł Piłat, mgr Adrianna Graca

Our goal is to discover the function of N4BP1 by analyzing the composition of N4BP1 nucleoprotein complexes during the development of inflammation. N4BP1 localizes to RNA-processing granules, which are formed as a result of cellular stress. Within the observed granules, messenger RNAs are degraded. Moreover, N4BP1 interacts with proteins responsible for binding long non-coding RNAs - involved in telomere modification. Therefore, N4BP1 is an attractive target for the analysis of: molecular basis of mRNA degradation and modulation of telomere stability by lncRNAs.
